About Ron

Location: Cherokee County Courthouse, Murphy, NC (Established on June 19, 2014) Monthly Meeting is on 3rd Thursday of each month.

Mr. Ron Gosselin, a native of Somersworth, New Hampshire, (the only city in America with that name), was baptized into the Catholic faith; shortly after birth, as is custom. He began his more serious journey with the Lord when he became a Eucharistic minister in the Catholic Church which allowed him to minister communion. Later in life, upon moving to Hawaii he became a deacon at Kawaiaho Church, a Hawaiian Christian church, and served as a deacon and helped with monthly baptisms, providing communion, and Bible messages to retirement homes. He also assisted at weddings, served as Sunday school teacher to the youth from grades 6th through 12th which helped with the homeless, and ministered to the Hawaiian churches. He also visited hospitals and jails to pray for those in need of prayer.

Leaving Hawaii and moving to Florida, he and his wife Diane became members of a First Assembly of God church. Ron attended two Walks to Emmaus, once as a pilgrim and the second time as a teacher. This experience brought him closer to the Lord. During this time, he began to work as an addiction counselor. In his work with the clients, he used what the Lord had done for him, providing a way to be healed. He encouraged his clients to have a close and personal relationship with Jesus as well.

Finally, moving to Murphy in 2013, he and Diane became members of World Harvest Church North. He also attended the first Awake America Prayer Meetings in Murphy at the city park June 19, 2014. He continued to attend as they moved to the library. As the meeting grew, they later moved into the Cherokee County courthouse. Ron was asked to “fill in” as facilitator and for almost 10 years he has and remains currently the facilitator.

Ron and Diane enjoy the companionship of their four cats, Sunshine, Frosty, Tiny

Paws, and Loki.

Ron’s quote is “I have been blessed to be a part of the Awake America Prayer Meetings. I highly recommend that you join this blessed program where prayers bring miracles. The biggest miracle in my life was my salvation through the prayers of my mother.”

Ron’s favorite scriptures are I Corinthians 13 (whole chapter) and 1 John 4:20: If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, his is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother who he hath see, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
